Hampton Inn & Suites Birmingham-Downtown-Tutwiler

My wife and I had the most wonderful time in the Tutwiler. A lot of beauty and history there and the view was amazing as well. The only problem was that there was a potato chip in our bed. Do not think the room was cleaned appropriately, but over all we had a good time.

We had a wonderful stay here! All the staff was kind and helpful. The suite we had was beautiful and very clean. I would absolutely recommend this hotel. The location was great for walking around downtown to everything we needed. Thank you Tutwiler!

Great location and a quaint, historical hotel. Especially convenient if attending events at the Boutwell Auditorium. Hot water takes a long while, tho. Valet parking is very easy and the staff was amazing.

I had a great stay here! It was just an overnight business trip but everything went smoothly. The room was spacious and clean, I was placed in one of the upgraded units so it was very modern and comfortable. I slept well and the area the hotel is in was quiet so there were no outside distractions throughout the night. The bathrooms were well stocked with toiletries and the shower was 10/10. Oftentimes I find that hotel water is hard and dries your skin out this wasn’t the case at the Tutweiler. The oversized towels were a plus as well. The breakfast area had a wide variety and met my dietary needs. Valet parking was pricey but the staff was very friendly and helpful. I like the online car request feature that makes it quick & easy to redeem your vehicle when needed.

Pretty nice hotel. I liked the vibe it feels like a classy old hunted hotel (nothing weird happend) but I was kinda of expecting to run into Jack Nicholson wearing a tux, LOL. I loved the place. Spacious rooms, excellent service, great breakfast setup. There's no parking lot, but you do have the option of valet parking.

Very conveniently located if attending events at BJCC. Rooms are a great size. Hotel breakfast is decent, standard fare. Limited seating in breakfast area. Enjoyed my stay

What a neat hotel!! This hotel was in a great location to get to all of the places we wanted to visit. They are just finishing renovations and the rooms are really nice and very spacious! Everyone at the hotel was so friendly! And I loved learning about the history of the hotel and city.

Old money, comfortable stay. I stayed for two nights and I booked throu my company's hotel booming service. I chose the hotel because it was reasonably-priced and somewhat near the airport. When I arrived, I thought my GPS took me to the wrong place bc it looked it a boutique hotel vs a Hampton Inn. The historic building has been beautifully maintained and transformed into a hotel that holds the historic days-of-past sophistication and command while incorporating all the comforts and amenities you would hope for. My favorite part of the room was the bathroom and bed. The king room was not the largest, but the space was wisely designed so space was used well. The bathroom was desined around the architecture of the building with a nod to the historic in the shower tile, while fixtures, though modern, matched the historic style of the buidling. The only issues I had were lack of TRULY hot water on day 1. Shower time 9 AMish...second day it was hot. The toilet dripped in the tank and would loudly refill once every 30 mins or so. I brought it to the attention of staff, but came back that evening to it still leaking; overall, a small inconvenience. One thing to note. The valet service is outstanding but wxpensive at $38/night.
